I'm Sonja, writing to you from I. House in Vancouver, where we are all excited for you to join us for ASSIST! 1. Every student at UBC must take the LPI test in order to register in a first year English course, unless they qualify for an exemption. To see if you qualify for an exemption, visit:

2. Check out this page about International House Heritage. I. House is in many ways central to international student life at UBC!

- Hi everyone! My name is Sonja and I am going into second year Science at UBC. My parents are originally from Serbia, but I have spent most of my life in Kuwait. I’m really excited to be here at UBC in Canada and I think British Columbia is definitely one of the most beautiful places in the world. I like all the cultural diversity that we have here and I am very excited to get to know you and find out about your background! Some of my hobbies include travelling all over BC, ballet, First Nations art, volunteering on and off-campus, baking, and sipping soy lattes. And, most importantly, meeting wonderful people such as yourself!
