Dear ASSIST students,
I hope you are all doing well! This must be an exciting and busy time for you as you prepare for your arrival at UBC. I remember being how excited I was to come to UBC.. to the point where even my own family members started telling me to stop talking about it all the time!
You will soon start receiving New To UBC e-mails, which it is very important that you read as they contain important information you need to be aware of before coming to UBC!

1st ASSIST e-mail
Dear ASSIST participants,
Hello and welcome! Here in Vancouver, we are all thrilled that you have chosen to join us for ASSIST 2007. My name is Sonja and I am a student staff member working on the social/residence life aspect of ASSIST. I am very excited to be involved in planning various activities that will help you meet new friends, as well as get adjusted to UBC and Vancouver in general. I am even more excited to meet each and every one of you and I look forward to hearing about your diverse backgrounds and experiences!
This is one of many e-mails you will receive from me before you come to Vancouver. I plan to provide as much information as I can in order to make your transition as smooth as possible. If I omit anything, please do not hesitate to contact me! I would be thrilled to answer any questions you may have about UBC, Vancouver or Canada. And if I can't answer them, I will certainly do my best to point you in the direction of someone who can.
