Fall updates

Hey everyone,

WOW, it's been a busy last few days. Between GALA and Imagine, I trust that you are all feeling very oriented to UBC, are becoming true experts on icebreakers, and have gotten pretty sick of Domino's Pizza (if you aren't by now, you will be soon. Very soon).

There are a few points I would like to cover in this e-mail, so here goes:
Photos from our farewell party last Tuesday are up on the blog! http://assist07.blogspot.com/ .
Festivals in September/October that you might be interested in going to, are up on the blog as well! Going to see movies, plays etc. is a great way to get to know Vancouver better and feel more at home, I've found.
International Peer Advising is a great way for you to get many of your questions answered, regarding things like MSP, extending your study permit, getting a work permit and finding work, etc. Students (International Peer Advisors) will be at I. House from 1-5pm, Monday-Friday, for the rest of the school year, ready to answer your questions. They will be sitting at the desk you see as soon as you walk into I. House. I am also an IPA so please stop by to say hello!

Finally - is anyone interested in playing on my Ultimate Frisbee team? My team will compete in the slackest division possible (this also means most fun!), so there's really no need to worry about "not being good enough". Games will be held nights and weekends, so they won't interfere with your classes. E-mail me if you're interested!

I hope everyone has a lovely start to the school year and I look forward to bumping into you all soon!

Take care,

Sonja
